PADMICA

In this literature review, carried out by Eötvös Loránd University, we aim to introduce relevant literature on the adaptation of international students and intercultural competence.

Chapter 1 provides a background on international students and discusses the necessity of pre-mobility preparation and post-mobility intervention.

Chapter 2 introduces the literature on acculturation and the adaptation of international students, including their experiences upon returning home after studying abroad. This chapter explores the processes and factors that influence their mobility outcomes across various domains, laying the groundwork for understanding the role of intercultural competence.

Chapter 3 focuses on intercultural competence, examining its components, main theoretical frameworks, development, measurements, and programs aimed at promoting its development among international students.

Chapter 4 presents recommendations for planning and implementing intercultural interventions based on our literature review.

“GIVE ME SHELTER” WHAT TEACHERS CAN DO TO HELP THEIR REFUGEE STUDENTS FROM UKRAINE - Project work

The arrival in Hungarian schools of children who have fled from Ukraine to Hungary creates a new situation for which schools and teachers are ill-prepared.
Under the professional guidance of Professor Emerita Ágnes Boreczky and 11 international students of the Master's Programme in Social Integration of our Institute have prepared the following project, which aims to provide some general information and help teachers to think about the most important issues in the process of admitting refugee children to school, and to give practical ideas for "handling" the new situation.

The lecturers of the Institute in collaboration with the students, will soon publish an extended and updated version of the project work translated into Hungarian.

Until then, we are pleased and proud to publish the work of our students. We hope that our colleagues will find their work useful in their daily work.

You can find the Project work here.
